Troop 820 wants to be Japanese

Well, half of them did anyway.  Their logo (so they claimed) said "I want to be Japanese" written in Japanese of course.  They called themselves the Ninjas.  The other half of the troop sailed on the good ship Kalaha and called themselves the Bahama Mamas.

Here, in accord with ancient Japanese ritual, the crew chief sounds the conch horn before the flag is raised.

Way hay and up she rises!

The Ninjas met the Bahama Mamas on neutral territory (Le Pecheur d'Etoiles) for a bowline tieing contest.  Who are these clowns, anyway?

Can the Ninja warrior out-tie the pink-skirted Mama?

The agony of defeat!  It was so crushing that the Ninja tried to commit Seppuku by eating hot dogs until he burst.  Unfortunately he lived to fight again.

Even the starfish want to be Japanese.

Japanese religion draws inspiration from both eastern and western traditions.  Here we see two sources of divine guidance.

By the end of the voyage, even the captain had become a Ninja pirate.
