Troop 58 finds a dead whaleSurely we will make it into Hopetown, if only the captain can find the lighthouse.
OK! Let's all march by the church and go snorkeling!!
Nice view from the beach... but why are all those people standing there?
Our crew chief Matt investigates and finds that, oh gross, it's a dead whale. (Strictly speaking, a juvenile Cuvier's Beaked Whale, Ziphius Cavirostrus)
A dead whale with shark bites. And the sharks are still swimming around out there. Who wants to snorkel at this beach!?!
Fortunately, not all beaches on Elbow Cay are infested with dead mammals or their predators. Here we see a fishing boat negotiate the breakers at Tilloo Cut while Troop 58 soaks in a shallow and shark-free pool at Tahiti Beach.
